26. Hate and Love Should Not Be in the Same World
(note: This poem has been selected by the max 3 artists and is no longer available)

Once there was hate.
Something happened that brought the world wide awake.
There was a person, you see,
who had no life.
She was always doing things
that were not right.
She did not understand,
she did not know what to do.
When she looked at the world
she only saw dark devil
black and blue.
It smelled like farts and old rotten cheese,
and burned
like orange fire.
When she looked around
it made her so very tired.

But one day, the world changed.
People started asking questions,
they started looking around,
and this is what they found.

The of smell roses, pink and red,
in the beautiful gardens up ahead.
The taste of yummy gummy bears that we ate and
sweet creamy frosting on birthday cupcakes.
POP POP BOOM BOOM POP POP BOOM
is the sound that we hear, like the shell echo of the ocean coming near.
Warm and smooth like the bottom of a baby,
we ask, is there love in the world?

Definitely, not maybe.

Soccer rocks like the cool Tony Hawk
When we all score the crowd roars… like thunder
We run so fast like a lightning bolt.
The opponents can’t imagine the jolt
That their team is about to feel.
The goalie is strong like a wall
He blocks the shots of all
Of all the opponents
Just standing in the sun having fun
Our team will not give up, not today or tomorrow
But soccer is not all about winning,
It’s about having fun and chillin’!

I believe I can do it
If I put my mind to it
I can make better schools
If I use all my tools
I can pay all my dues
and go to school too
like Obama did
he made people’s dreams come true, true, true
True education is the key if you want to succeed
Dr. Martin Luther King had a dream
that black and white would not have a king
that counts on bling
so instead we got the people who sing
Don’t open the door to another world Joe
You know me, I’m heaven-sent so
Even eleven men with clownin’ pens
Can’t penetrate through this mental blend
And pretend to understand the trance
I’ve got them in
Education is the key if you want to succeed
And especially if you want to be me
Peace

29. Wildcat Swag

I remember when I had wishes and dreams
I remember when we won our first soccer game
I remember my last Christmas on my knees making wishes
I remember when I was sick and my mom made me soup
I remember when I was with my dad

My heart is as warm as a heater, as bright and shiny as a sunrise, as enormous as a moonrise

This right here is my sweet girl swag

I imagine I am a monkey and I can swing on trees
I think I will be a leopard
I can jump and run
I wish I could drive
People think I’m cows and horses
But really I am polka dots and rolka dots

My mind is as huge as a plum, as dark blue as the sky, as full as a classroom

This right here is my smart girl swag

I am cute, kind, creative, cocky and clean
I am funny, smart and sometimes mean
I am happy that I’m on the soccer team

My team is as goofy as someone’s shoes falling off when they try to kick the ball, as sweet as a sweet pea, as great as a friend

This right here is my BFF swag

I am proud that I am a summer baby
I am proud of myself because I love to learn
I know how to jump double dutch
I love to paint!
I love to read!
In twenty years I’ll be reading

Feels like I gotta get that boom boom boom, I feel like giggling, I feel like a star

This right here is my wildcat swag
All of us together swag
Everybody pay attention
This right here is our Wildcat Swag! Wildcat Swag! Wildcat Swag!

30. My Sadness

My sadness is like a cloud rumbling
My hands numb, my heart slowly pounding
It beats and my eyes are like a never-ending rain
This was not too long ago but I remember the pain

This was the time when I felt hurt
Yes hurt, and I can hear you blurt,
How can this young girl even know what hurt means?
I may be young but everything is not what it seems

I was 4 when my mom came here to work so I could have a better life
And everyone in my family will not be in strife

I was hurt, sad and morose that she was away
I know she felt that too and that she wanted to stay
with me and watch me grow through my childhood years
but if she didn’t, I wouldn’t be here today, this put me into tears

7 years have passed and now I am here
Reunited with my hardworking mommy dear
Although time has gone and cannot be turned back
No regrets, no more sadness, those are all in a sack

One last thought I leave with you today
Cherish every moment with your mom or dad, I pray
Because without them there is no more me or you
I give thanks for my family and I hope you do too!

31. Obsessed

Body overflowing with anger,
Shedding all hopes and dreams in my path,
I didn’t know the goal I was reaching for was
Nothing,
Nothing.
Realizing the rage of obsession
In me
Is struggling to escape.
I shred all happy emotion.
I am a monster that cannot control
His anger,
His rage.
Forgetting who I am and
What I am doing.
On a rampage to crush every dream,
I act outrageous to be all alone.
Obsessed.
